The Low Power Radio Network (LPAM.net) in unison with several other national groups (Amherst Alliance, Nick Legget, REC Networks etc.) and private individuals submitted a Petition for Rulemaking to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in August 2005 asking the Commission to create a new licensed commercial Low Power AM (LPAM) Radio Service.
At present the Petition is known as RM-10287 at the FCC. Comment periods have closed but additional comment periods could be on the horizon if the FCC chooses to act on this proposed service. Currently the FCC is not acting on this Petition but it is still possible that we'll see action on it during the year 2007. We'll keep you up to date with the latest LPAM news at LPAM.net.
